Music for Prepared Keyboard is Isla Isle's newest album, and definitely their most experimental. While my previous releases relied purely on white noise and distorted samples of previously-recorded material, this introduces original music to the catalog. This consists of five pieces made with three different methods: Standard playing, electronic manipulation of pre-recorded keyboard songs, and electronic manipulation of the keyboard itself. This creates an innovative and abrasive experience influenced by John Cage himself. This release also incorporates elements of free improvisation and glitch music (the keyboard nearly shorts out several times due to the extreme amount of power being applied to it) for the first time in Isla Isle's career. The cover may say it's "Sonatas and Interludes", but believe it or not, there are none of those here! That is simply a very clever ruse based on the John Cage release "Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano".
